OK!!! I am finally speaking my mind!!! I am sick and tired of the simple minded, closed ended, lack of facts tauten, rotten attitude, opinionated hypocrites throwing off about things they really and truly know nothing about!!! When will we as a nation or world for that matter finally learn that committing a crime or causing damage or ing off another person has absolutely nothing to do with the tools involved! It only has to do with the person who used the tool to do the dirty deed. I ride a 4-wheeler on property where it is not allowed? I broke the LAW! Not the 4-wheeler. I ride a Jet Ski too close to other boaters? I Broke the LAW! Not the Jet Ski. I shoot a gun in an unsafe manner? I broke the LAW! Not the Gun. I get drunk and kill someone by hitting someone while driving drunk? Nope not the cars fault, or the alcohols fault. Mine and Mine only!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you see my point??? I agree 100% some people and I mean SOME PEOPLE NOT ALL disobey the law and/or have no respect for land or other people on that land, those people should be arrested and held accountable but not the equipment they used? Why should good law abiding citizens be punished by not using ATV’s where they are allowed and Jet Ski’s and Guns and what ever ells your minds can come up with, when very few break the laws!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sorry for getting animated with this post but I just get fed up with closed minded thinking. LONG LIVE THE ATV, JET SKI, FIRE ARMS, ALCOHOL, BIG TRUCKS, THE SPIRIT OF THE WILD, AND GOOD OLD FASHION VALUES!!! Peace out. ;D ;D ;D

I have to agree with your logic. HOWEVER (knew that was coming didn't you) I live real close to Patoka Lake and the lake property is my back yard. When people who know better come through my yard like they own it and I don't even know them or I am fishing in a 10 mph zone and some yahoos on a jetski comes zipping around us at 50 mph on a regular basis we have reason to dislike ATVs and jetskis. And yes I do call the sheriff and feel no remorse for the ones who get ticketed. As I say, turn on key, turn off brain. These can be great tools/toys when used properly.

I agree with you and share your aggravation however I do have one question?
You said you fish right? In a 10 mile an hour zone right?
I have a 27ft cabin cruiser on Lake Monroe and spend most of my summer there, I have had several occasions where I was trying to load my boat on a trailer at a public dock that is meant for loading and unloading not fishing when several bass boats drift right in and block me so they can fish? Now that is wrong and against Boating regulations.
Should I try to out law bass boats? Or should I just make sure those few who have no respect get ticketed for blocking a loading ramp???
You see what I mean? Anything and everything has been and will continue to be used the wrong way. It is our duty to stop the people from using them wrong not to eliminate the fun for everyone….
God Bless. Jeremy

I agree 100% with the first post in this thread. It's kind of funny and sad that we as hunters don't want the public to label all of us drunk, redneck, hillbillies, who love to kill animals for our pleasure just because they had a run in one time with a drunk, redneck, hillbilly, with a deer strapped to his hood. Yet, we are quick to label someone with a four wheeler in the back of his truck a "lazy" hunter or an "idiot who disregards the rules of 4-wheelers on public land" just because we have had a run in with some idiots on 4-wheeler's on public land. This is the same logic that the gun control people use...a few people use guns to commit crimes, therefore we must outlaw all guns. A few idiots disregard the rules and run the 4 wheelers on public land therefore we should outlaw all 4 wheelers. Why does it sound stupid as hell when the gun control people say it, but makes perfect sense when we say it about each other? I forgot to say that I'm just as guilty about thinking these sorts of thoughts as anyone else and sometimes jump to conclusions about people based on past experiences or prejudices.

Burn their butts. Boat ramps are another place where the idiots of the world congragate. I fish out of South Lick fork ramp mostly, it has a small dock, one boat for each side. I could not tell you how many times some idiot has tied up to the end of the dock and blocked it off for anyone else. The turn on key turn off brain works bor lots of boat owners too. It all comes down to lack of smarts and respect. I agree with you and share your aggravation however I do have one question? You said you fish right? In a 10 mile an hour zone right? I already said 3 times in the posts I started a few days ago, if you're on your own land then lay on the gas make some rooster tails and give her hell, I still stand by that. I'm not trying to outlaw ATVs I just want to keep them out of the places they aren't supposed to be. If you want to run that thing wide open in the middle of your uncle Joe's corn field, man, have at it. If I'm not mistaken, Indiana is either working on this or already has it, they are working on giving you places to ride and there is plenty of water out there to ride a jet ski, just follow the rules.when the sign says no wake follow it, when the rules say no ATVs don't take them there. I'm as hunting friendly as they come but rules are rules. If a guy trespasses on you're land do you just turn your head and not say anything? heck no you go let that guy know if you do that again I'm callen' the CO, same with this situation, I'm just lettin' you know you ain't' supposed to be here with that. I know every dirt rider isn't the devil himself I'm not attacking you or the rest of the ATV owning nation just the bad apples. By the way, Indianadan, that is not the same way the anti's think, If I go shoot a gun in your back yard 10 feet from the house with a sign on the porch saying no fire arms discharged within 100 ft of this house are you gonna just sit there and take it? HELL NO! you're gonna come unglued, and ram your boot where the sun don't shine.

Ahawkeye....
I agree 100% with your post!
However I think you miss understood my intention, I am not a rule breaker and I never said anything about breaking rules. If you break a rule or law then you should be punished to the fullest extent! I believe that with all my hart "I am in Law Enforcement"...
But to punish people who don't break the law because of a few that do is WRONG!!! DEAD WRONG!!!
I should be able to take my ATV on public land no problem! But If me or any others screw up and ride to fast or tear up the ground in anyway then forget it I should be arrested and my ATV should be taken away from me. Too many times though instead of fixing the problem to begin with we simply try to out law the tool that was used to make the problem. All this does is make the problem causers mad and makes them an even bigger problem.
My two cents.
