Anyone else heard anything about EHD problems with deer dying in Indiana? I live in Vermillion County and the rumor is 17 deer have been found dead with EHD caused by black flies laying larva in the nostrils of deer. I have a buddy who is a hunter ed. instructor and he talked with the C.O. who said they have found a few with EHD in Vermillion County dead, but wouldn't admit that 17 deer were found, he indicated a few deer were found and the numbers keep growing every time the story is told. Just wondering if anyone else in the State is having trouble with EHD.

Today I met with Indiana DNR to put parts of our farm into the soil conservation program, and Northern Bobwhite quail program. The DNR people I met with are located in Sullivan County and are stationed at Minihahha (sp)? He said; that in the last few weeks their office has received calls from Clay, Putnman, Greene, Parke, and Sullivan Counties by people who have found dead and/or dying deer. Looks as if EHD is a valid concern.
