I have entered several of those contest over the years.Never have won one.I don't see anything wrong with it as long as you do everything legal.

What is the difference in this competition and any scoring system. Scoring is set up to compete. What other reason would it serve?

There is no difference. A contest is a contest, regardless of whether there even ARE any prizes, let alone the amount involved. Me entering a turkey contest or a deer contest is no different than a man entering a deer hunting contest which pays out 1 million dollars to the top deer. Except that I do not have the chance to compete for the million dollars. I have virtually no chance of taking the biggest buck this year, but if there was a place to sign up and it was cheap enough, I would sign up anyway. Same reason I buy a lottery ticket on occasion.

I don't hunt because of the contests, I enter the contests because I hunt.
My mindset doesn't and won't change because of any contest I am in. I am in the contest to see myself and other hunters succeed at something we enjoy. Or fail. Doesn't matter.
I hunt and fish to do my best for myself. I view the contests as a way for me to share that with my fellow hunters. Any contest that does anything other than that, is not something I wish to be a part of.

I would say there is a line to be drawn. They are talking real money. The contest we have on here are just bragging rights and don't change my game plan at all. I still enjoy the outdoors and still shoot does. Anything over a couple a hundred bucks is starting to be serious money.

Serious money to some is not serious money to all. I don't have a problem with it. It's not my cup of tea but I really don't see any ethical or moral problems with it as long as everything done is legal. I definitely see where there could be temptation to break the rules because of the prize amount, however, people are breaking the rules now with no money riding on it.
