Anybody seen any fawns yet? There was picture in yesterdays paper with a doe and single fawn. Seems like a wee bit early but maybe not.

Not yet here. They are normally born in Mid-May or June. This depends on when the Doe was bred.

When it comes to mother nature, I've witnessed enough abberations to realize it will eventually break every rule in the book. If I hear the words "never" or "always" in a discussion, I discount the comment.

No fawns, but saw a couple of bucks on the side of the road tonight. One had beams out to the tips of his ears already.

I believe I saw two on Saturday evening...... I looked out my back windows.
and saw a doe at 500 yards in a field edge. then I saw 2 little ones, I'm 99% sure they were not last years fawns. by the time I walked 12 feet to the windows and picked up the bino's they were in the tall grass.....never saw them again.
so I couldn't see spots to be sure.....but I think I saw two new fawns, I was thinking it was a little early.

I'll be putting out my camera again tonight or this weekend. We'll see! I set a camera out today. It's only 4 1/2 months to the archery opener!

I was doing some work in the woods on Thursday (I put the camera up on Tuesday). I had 61 pics of deer (save a lone coyote picture). No fawns yet big enough to get their picture taken!

Saw a few does standing along the shoulder of Interstate 64 near Ferdinand on Friday evening.... as we passed the wife started shouting "THERE'S A BABY!" but it was too late for me to get a look at him. Gotta watch for that unmarked Mustang in that stretch...

I pulled a card Sunday that had been out for two weeks over a Trophy Rock and Lucky Buck. I had 1700 pictures and no fawns.

I saw a Huge Doe, on my place yesterday. Looked like she was ready to drop her fawn(s) very soon. She was very fat, looking like she might even have triplets!
