$300...that's tough one. Might try Ebay.
The best new prices that I have seen are at bowhunterssuperstore.com

bobinin is right... $300 wont get you much.
You might find a good used one that is owned by someone that needs the money bad.
Stay completely away from the Chinese junk on eBay.
Stick with the name brands of TenPoint, Excalibur, Horton and Parker
What is your top dollar? if I run across something I will let you know.

I really dont want to spend much over 300.00. Dunhams sale flyer had an Barnett crossbow and kit on sale for 299.00, original price 399.00. Are the Barnett bows any good? h.h.

Their reputation is less than stellar. Barnetts are the crossbows that most experienced crossbow shooters will tell you to stay away from. Some people own Barnetts and swear by them though. They went through chapter 11 bankruptcy not too long ago. They warranty their crossbows for 1 year while TenPoint , Parker, Excalibur and Horton warranties for life. That should tell you something.. If it was me I'd pass on the Barnett and save a few more dollars and pick up a used TenPoint..

try craigslist.
I managed to pick up a 1 yr old Parker Buck buster with a new cost of $765 for all the goodies for a mere $450
I found one near Louisville for about that price. Widow selling husbands "stuff"

My Barnett Predator is the fastest x-bow you can buy for under $600 bucks. It shoots 375 FPS. and do go faster you will spend a $1,000 or more. Its an excellent quality bow for a strong man. Wimps need not apply for a Predator as it takes muscle to cock it.

Ten Point's customer service & support was very helpful when I was deciding on which model & what accesories that I wanted for my first crossbow purchase. The helpful guys that I have dealt with are crossbow hunters themselves. Their turn around time on orders is QUICK.........
