Im going to put in for the first week of Muzzleloader season and see what happens. Another thing that really chaps me is that IF she put in for it a year ago like they claim (but cant back up with paperwork) then they had plenty of time to let me know and say "Hey, you might want to adjust your vacation time this year." instead of waiting this long to notify me. Anyway...whats done is done. Dont get me wrong...Im thankfull I have a job, its just a very frustrating situation.

Not to be holier than thou but if I am not sick I am not calling in sick. No wonder you can trust anyone these days. That being said I am off work bow hunting the whole week before gun season.

I work with a bunch of hunters, so...it's always a battle to get the days off. See if you can get the first week of muzzleloader season. I like it way better than the general firearm season anyway.

I'd cry discrimination and threaten to file a suit...There are laws against that...Shouldn't matter why you want it off..if you put in and it was approved, then they revoke your vacation so she can have her vacation the same time....Discrimination.......File a complaint with the labor Dept. or the main office Your supervisor has a Supervisor call her Supervisor and file a complaint formally in writing describing what you've told us...

I was thinking the same thing, but I would imagine things would get pretty rough at work and the witch boss would be looking for ANYTHING to get rid of him. I would just come in the office on the morning of Nov. 16 in full cammo, ( complete with face cammo makeup) blowing on a grunt tube, and a very heavy dose of Tinks 69, and or skunk cover scent on my work boots and go into witch boss's office dragging your feet hard into carpet and tell her that you understand completely why she let the other female co-worker off the first week of deer season. ;D

Maybe I will get lucky and fill at least one tag on opening weekend. I have just about every year anyway. I put in for the first week of Muzzleloader season off. The department head approved it on the spot.

I will turn my vacation paper work in the day it is handed to me and I have the supervisor sign it and give me the copy so this dose not happen to me ever . I just plan my hunting vacations about 9 months in advance .I love it when the low lifes come up to the boss and try to change or get a vacation off the week I have already scheduled because at that point seniority dose not matter it is closed 30 days after they pass out the paperwork and what you got you keep!
I had a woman one year find out that deer opener was about 2 weeks prior to season she was one of the old ones there and an anti! So she walked up to my supervisor right in front of me and asked it off he said it was already full but she could go the next week .She threw a fit pointed at me spewing about how I was off that week and she had more time than me and how it was soooo unfair . I walked over to my tool box while she threw her tie raid on the boss .He was about to let her off and I got that empty feeling in my gut you know the one .that happens right before a bad thing . But I saw my copy of the vacation request setting in the drawer .I walked over to showed it to my Foreman he just smiled at me "He is a HUNTER too" .
I simply turned to the old hag and said read it and weep you old bitty .

Sounds like she needs some tarsal glands under her car seat.
I worked with an evil woman one time. She had a favorite parking spot. I was new and didn't know about it and parked in her spot one morning. She parked next to me and left me about 8 inches of room between my drivers side and her car. I politely asked her about it at lunch and she got nasty with me. I told her that I would be nice and go through the pasenger side door, but the next time I would get in my car one way or the other and didn't care what happened to her car. I then told her that since I started work an hour before she did, that it was my parking space now. About an hour later the plant manager came and took me aside and said that she complained about me cursing and threatening her, I never cursed at her. I parked in her spot every day and it really burnt her up. The bad ending of the story is that a couple of months later, she had a heart atack and died getting ready for work one morning.

Put your vacation for M/L season now and inform the supervisor that you are making reservations that are not changeable (low price fares, etc) and ask her if anyone else has this time slot and if you are approved for the time slot and not subject to change.
Kinda know how you feel. I lost my access to private land for opening day. His family coming down to hunt (which is wonderful and I wish them the best opening day). So I may not hunt public lands during opening day. I haven't really scouted any areas this season. I know my fault for assuming I have access for opening day.

Did and done....first week of muzzleloader season is approved. Sorry to hear about your situation TagTeam...not much a guy can do about it sometimes, ? I have been trying to find more land to hunt for years, but in my area it's nearly impossible. Unless you want to go sit with all the guys who go to the Wilbur Wright state owned reserves....I went ONE time...once it got daylight enough to see...you could see orange like every 50 yards in every direction. I got the heck outta there fast, it was an accident waiting to happen. I sure didnt want to be sitting there when a deer came through and the slugs started flying.

I would not let any of them have the satisfaction of knowing they ruined your plans...improvise and overcome or leave the job. Plenty of opportunity available with the right planning.
