The Full moon is bright? And i think has alot to do with seeing or not seeing, I plan on sitting all day tomorrow, but the moon has me thinking about starting at 9am and sit till 2pm, I took a ride the other day and saw more deer up than normal, on there feet at 2pm, So maybe there moving earlier and bed than up at Night, The Full Moon should be about done here right?

Shot a nice 10pt. that should have been a 12 had he not broken off the main beam just behind his G-4. He was hot on a does ass, gruntin and acting a fool like they do. Got him to stop long enough to put a Bloodrunner in him. Made it 40 yds. before piling up.

I had a huge 10 point chasing a doe out in front of me for half an hour last night. Too bad he never got within 40 yards.

I had a huge 10 point chasing a doe out in front of me for half an hour last night. Too bad he never got within 40 yards. Yesterday I set my brother up in the same place I was since I couldn't hunt. He put out a decoy to help get the big boys attention and this is what he got. He weighed 200 lbs and I roughly gross scored him at 150.

Not yet..still a little early and this warm weather is gonna put a damper on things..Been hunting Illinois 500 acres of prime ground and not a buck chasing yet... and we've beeen hunting hard all week long.... very few buck sightings, and no chasing, they've been wondering and eating acorns...seen several doe and no bucks with em either...I know it varies by geographic regions, but we ain't seeing many signs, or very few signs of the rut....Who kows with the warm weather they may be doing most of their chasing at nights, but I was driving around after dark last night is some prime spots and no deer moving...?

Where i hunt, i had not even see a deer until Thursday night, didn't start hunting until late October. Friday morning as soon as i got on stand i turned the can call over and almost instantly could hear the footsteps coming my way. Was a small 8 pointer. Later in the morning i seen 2 different 4 pointers, only one was with a doe but he was not chasing her at all. In fact, at one point the doe actually took off to catch up with the buck. I think it's going to improve each day this week with the moon going dark, these temps may push the activity to darkness but then again i can't say im not glad to see the warmth and wind because i really need the corn to dry at my place and get shelled or i'm going to be at a huge disadvantage once the guns go off this weekend.

Saw 2 nice 2.5yo bucks running a doe friday night, Nov 6, and watched the larger of the 2 breed the doe less than 50yds away. Hunted Saturday morning and saw 3 bucks, 2 cruising and 1 on a doe. The first cruiser came back through on the same trail that the other buck was pushing a doe on about 30 minutes later. Kinda strange that the nicest buck came in last and walked acrossed the trail of the other 3 deer and never seemed to notice..

put a bad shot on a big 6 yesterday evening ...tracked him for 2 hours over a mile and lost blood trail... didnt start track till about an hour and half after i shot cause i noticed i put a bad shot on him. went back to the same area and found my arrow with a lil blood on it. i noticed the broadhead was damaged pretty good. could have hit bone on its path? but i took my 5yo boy with me this time and had 2 does one on each side of us walk in within 10 feet. couldnt shoot as it was just dark enough that i could make a good kill shot ... tried to wait till they were gone but when the walked off two nice bucks walked in couldnt tell the points but definitly were nice so we waited another hour before we moved on out so we didnt spook anything ... got back to the truck and had 2 deer standing about 50 or so yards away when i hit the lights... deer were moving late tonight yesterday it was about 4 today few min. after 5. i thought my son was gonna scream or freak out when the first doe came within 7 feet of him but he just looked at her and didnt move a muscle... i was suprised she got wind of us but couldnt make us out and just alertly wandered off but not spooked. wont be able to hunt again till next friday.. maybe that bruiser will walk by. off to work this week till friday then its on.

Things were insane this morning. You could hear them chasin before light. Once light broke a doe came in and stopped at 10 yards to pee for what seemed like gallons. That really set stage for the morning. 7 bucks came thru and all but one were less than 15 yards. They all were interested in where that doe pee'd eventhough it wasn't a scrape. Pretty cool morning. Seen 4 does and 2 fawns as well. I did forget my camera but snapped a PIC of this 8 point with my cell phone. Pretty much straight down. He came in to my rattling like he was on a string and stopped at the base of my tree. LOL Still waiting on a shooter...

I seen a nice little buck this afternoon building a blind for my daughter. He walked right in on me..guess he didn't hear me making all that noise brushing in the blind...I'd say it full on November 10th like every year....should get better when it cools off.

I saw two bucks chasing on Saturday the 7th from 2pm. till about 4pm. then they left my area. They never got closer then 50 yds. With the warm weather we've had the last couple days-- I've seen the does shedding the winter fur and some bucks with Mardi Gras beads in their antlers. ;D
