Does anyone have experience on one of these? I am going to buy a Polaris Sportsman 500 HO ATV in a few months and I was looking for feedback.

Jay not to sway you either way but my Dad has had a 01 Rancher since new , its never missed a beat and is a good work quad. Only thing that sucks is having to shift it all the time. It may not seem like a big deal but it gets old after a while. Especially after a long day on the trails.
Personally I love my shaft driven Eiger , it plows snow well , and is still small enough to get in and out of the woods. My cousin has a big 700 and has a hard time getting around in the woods cause the dang thing is so massive..

My grandpa has an '85 Honda 250 "Big Red" 3-wheeler that has been used EVERY DAY since new to at least make the 1 mile trip to get the mail, and usually to haul wood and such in the yard cart behind it... It's been through some tires and 2 starters (finally gave up and just kick start it now. Still first kick almost every time), and that's about it... Valve adjustments every couple years... It's actually gotten so much use that the headlight doesn't work any more, because the cables have to turn with the steering head, and some of the wires are broken internally from the bending cycles. I stopped by FlatOut Motorsports in Martinsville today and sat on a 400 HO, and a 500 HO. For taller people the 500 HO, or any other full size unit, is a must. Lots of nice stuff in their....come on fall!!

I have an 03 600 sportsman that has been absolutely bullet proof. We have had more issues with my wife's lady driven Honda 250 es recon {gasp} than we have had with my pushed to the limits Sportsman. Just point it, punch it and hang on. The trick to it all is hanging on, if you can hang on you will make it!
I was in Martinsville awhile back and while I didn't get to ride it they started up one of the new 800 EFI there in the showroom. Man if I could afford to upgrade I would in a New York minute!

Test drove the 500 HO today and it was a nice quad for the money. I have no complaints based on what I experienced and I plan to buy a quad in a few weeks.
