My 10/22, and my Marlin bolt gun both prefer CCI Mini-Mag Hollow Points. It just depends on your rifle.

Can't speak to Foxes or Coyotes, but any 22lr round that shoots well in your rifle will take squirrels. The only brand I stay away from are the Remington Thunderbolts and Golden Bullets.

I use either CCI Mini-Mag. or Winchester Super-X .22 LR Hollow points for Squirrels. On Coyote or Fox, I personally would use a larger cartridge like the .22 Hornet for humane kills. The .22 WRM would work with close-in shots though.

I've got a 10/22 that loves Remington Golden Bullets. I did start to notice more misfires lately so I switched to the federal hollowpoints in bulk. They shoot terrible out of my 10/22. I shoot so many rounds that I try to keep it as cheap as I can. I'm gonna have to do some experiementing cause the Federals aren't workin.

For a .22LR I have been using CCI stingers for 30+ years. I have lost count on how many I have shot (thousands) in a semi-auto. They have a little less lead and a lot more punch. I can't remember ever having a mis-fire. I have tried other brands and have always gone back to the Stingers.

In my experience, accuracy will suffer in a bullet that's overpowered in any caliber and the Stingers are definitely overpowered. The CCI mini-mags seem to have managed to hit the sweet spot in regards to the velocity/accuracy/killing effectiveness equation. They have done pretty well in all aspects out of every .22 I've fired them from. IMO, you'd be hard pressed to find a better all-around cartridge at a reasonable price which is readily available almost everywhere.

Huxbux.......I totally agree w/ what your sayin about Stingers. I have yet to see ANY gun that will hold a "tight" group w/ Stingers. Yes, they are hot rounds and will shoot good enough to get the job done. However, taking head shots at a grey squirrel in the top of a tall Hickory tree you better have a round the will perform.
Problem I have is I probably go through 1000 .22 rounds a year squirrel huntin w/ my dogs. So yes, price does become an issue.

What about them Winchester Wildcats? Do ya'll know why they call them Wildcats? Cause one hits the paper high, the next low, the next one left, the next one low, the next one right, etc, etc, etc.
