Miami county seems a bit behind, very few scrapes and rubs on the farm I hunt. By now there is usually an area that gets rubbed to death and nothings touched it
Steuben county my nephew took a decent 8 pointer ( on video !) last wednesday night and he was rutting hard, smelled strong and checking out does
Hows your area looking ?

Things look normal where I am, near South Bend. Rubs and scrapes in the usual spots.

It is very hit and miss in the southern part of the state.
Yesterday evening I saw 5 different 1.5 yo bucks chasing does .... the only bigger buck I saw was by himself and didnt really appear to be cruising.
Was scheduled to be off all this week but I am typing this from my office .... decided to work this morning and tomorrow morning and save a little of the vacation time.

Had two does following a buck yesterday. Wonder if he might be wired up wrong.

Had a nice 2.5 year old come in to some calls Saturday and saw a 1.5 year old spike chasing some does last night. Should be a couple more days until the big boys get going.

I hunt in Miami county as well. I did find a scrape Saturday morning, but thats the only one. I haven't been over to check the creek bank which had scrapes all over it last year as i don't want to pollute the area any more then i have to. Last Sunday i had a decent 11 respond to a grunt call. I have not seen any chasing yet, and very few does. Have seen more bucks then does. On my trail cam i had a nice 8 following a doe on halloween evening, an 2 pics of the 11 pointer at 1:30 in the morning. Last 2 hunts i have only seen 1 deer each sit, 2 little bucks.

Nothing happening to speak of just north of Bloomfield. We've got lots of small scrapes and lots of trail cam pics of small bucks. We aren't even seeing small bucks pushing does.
On Friday in Hancock county (Fortville) area I watch a buck mount a doe. I've logged many hours in a tee stand just like all of you and that was the first time I've seen that. I wasn't hunting but just saw them out in a picked bean field. Cool to see!!!!

Nothing happening in my area right now. Had a really nice and tall 8pt come in early Saturday and behind him was two does and he just kept right on going. I stopped him with a grunt but he wasn't that interested. I should have taken the horns... I think he might have came in to them... BB

Not much sign here other than some heavily used trails. Very few rubs and scrapes.

Full bore in my area. Seeking phase over, they are either breeding or chasing. Saw a good buck locked down with doe this morning and had a 115 inch 8 point came by a point blank range with nose to ground. I'm spending every minute in wood's that i can right now!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing on my usual property. Landowners hasn't even been seeing the usual "yard deer" he normally sees. Rumor has it that a nearby farmer filled 70+ depredation permits this past summer. Never saw the place devoid of all pre-rut sign in tweny years of hunting it.
Heading for some different territory.

Did see one basket-rack following a doe while checking out an area of public ground last week. Didn't appear to be very serious about her yet, just trailing around.

Saw a little 8 pointer Saturday morning running around like crazy but no does around...only deer I saw. Brother called Sunday and saw a doe hot-footin it along a fencerow about 100 yards past my stand with a quote "freakin monster" hot on her tail. Of course the morning I decide not to hunt!
