There was some $11k an acre ground sell just south of your knox county lease last year.
Guys are getting $500+ per acre cash rent on ground for melons and sweet corn.

Not sure about lake houses or farms but homes here in Hendricks County seem to be moving. We listed ours and had an accepted offer in less than 2 weeks. Talking to the buyers and they informed us that FIVE homes are stacked in this deal, all contingent on each one falling in order. That's all supposed to happen on Oct 31. Needless to say, I won't be in the woods until sometime in November.

Congrats on selling your house. We had ours listed and accepted the second offer on the ninth day. They showed it 7 times in 9 days. Lots of people looking for homes in such a crappy economy, eh? The house we are moving into was bought from the owner when he was thinking about listing it.

Homes that are selling the best are those priced under $200K. Those larger and more expensive are just sitting on the market like oversized Dinosaurs & are White Elephants. Buyers just didn't realize how expensive owning one of those huge home is in terms of Utilities, Taxes, Upkeep, ect.

It all depends on the agent that lists/works the house. Parents had 2 houses listed with one agent. 6 months didn't generate one offer. Switched agents and sole both within 6 weeks. Price of the houses didn't change.
Locally, Koontz Lake has a lot of houses for sale. They just put in sewers and now there is a sewer "tax".
Just got notice last week from the county regarding my property taxes. House value didn't change, land value jumped about 30% according to them.

There is supposed to be a 3.8% added tax to selling homes in 2013 because of ObamaCare. I guess maybe some people are unloading before that hits?
