Greetings The venison is picked up every week by a registered game dealer, he takes 2500 carcasses a year from us and it is all put into the food chain. Just last week I saw a package in a supermarket with there name on and it was two quarter pounder burgers for one pound seventy nine pence uk money. All of us have to have meat hygiene certificates every deer sold can be traced back not only to the stalker but to the ground it came from. I have to put my signature to every carcass I put into the chiller to confirm the animal looked to be in good health before I harvested it, that tag stays on that deer until a vet has passed it as fit for humane consumption, the dealer has to hire a vet to check every consignment that arrives at his processing plant. Fear not nothing is wasted it is revenue to our firm, hence the shots need to be accurate too many bad shots and questions would be asked. I get skills tested every year, this year it is September the twenty eighth so early to bed the night before and hopefully shoot straight next day lol Long answer but there we go Regards Billy

That's pretty cool. I believe it is against the law, at least in Indiana, for hunters to sell venison.

Do you get to keep a steak or two every once in awhile? As GPM said , we cant sell deer meat in Indiana. We can sell every body part but the meat. We can give it away though. I think that ruling goes back to the market hunting days when our wildlife was decimated.. ....
