Doc says my heart didn't get any better and won't. It's significantly damaged and will stay that way, dead is dead. She told me she had bad news as she was walking in the door; she doesn't sugar coat it. They'll call to schedule me for a pacemaker and defibrillator.
I'll miss another month of work.

Hopefully they'll get you fixed up and you'll be good as new.

Thank you. I must say that I'm a little bummed about it. I really thought that she'd tell me everything was fine, but not to run any marathons.
The ticker has been acting up of late, but I guess this is to be expected. I don't even know how to describe it; it's a new feeling, but I keep standing.
It's just strange that it's not going to get any better.

Heck I was middle age 6 months ago, now I'm old. Well, it's a little humorous. I feel like my sister did when she found out that she was 25; she thought she was turning 24. Man, she was really bummed.

Man, she was really bummed. I've told that to anyone who will listen. I told WOoodmaster (who is 51 and the youngest on my "kids") just snap your fingers and you'll be 74 like me. I semi-retired at age 56 (18 years ago)and that seems like only yesterday. BUT - there is still an 18 year old kid living inside of me.

BUT - there is still an 18 year old kid living inside of me. Exactly; I know the feeling. It's so bizarre. I've been calling myself an old guy for a long time, but really didn't feel it until a few months ago. I still felt like a kid. Sitting in this chair with no exertion or pain, I still feel like a kid. LOL

My thoughts then turn to (while looking at one of the youngest) - 1) I was once that youngest in the Williams clan and now I am the oldest, Some day that youngest could be the oldest. I'm cool with that. 2) And the most important - God has truly blessed me with three "kids", seven "grandkids" and soon to be nine great grandbabies. And three of my grand kids (all males) aren't even married yet. Turn the clock back 40 years and I would have never dreamed that God would bless me so abundantly. More that I deserve I can assure you..

Jon, hate to hear about your setback, but it's just that. Get that ticker tricked out with some bling to keep it running, so you can get back out there and make more hunting memories. I'll keep you in my prayers. Always remember to stay young at heart.

I hope I get a duck and goose soon. I won't be able to shoot for 30 days after. Thanks!

Jon, very sorry to hear of your cardiac issue. Exactly what is the nature of your heart issue, if you don't mind me asking. Is it a genetic issue or a condition that just happened? There is a condition called "Sick Sinus Syndrome" as your Cardiologist is scheduling a pacemaker & defibrillator as part of your treatment, which make me think of this heart condition. Prayers sent for your recovery.
