While the picture most likely isn't photoshopped, I wonder how far back from the hog he was in the picture?

At the alleged 8 feet long and 500 lbs, a bit but not too far back, IMO. (Less than some deer photos Ive seen LOL)

Very impressive. NC has several million acres of Forest and Wetlands, and a very large hog population across the State.
Eastern NC has millions of acres of Forest, and wetlands, many remote areas where large hogs and other wildlife can live there entire life and never even see a human.
