I'm off work this week, and my parents are camping in Owensboro Kentucky at Diamond Lake RV park. I'm gonna drive down and spend the day with them. They are in their mid 70's and i really need to start spending more time around them. Anyhow, the park has a pay lake, i think its like $16 for 7 fish under 10lbs. I've never fished in a pay lake of any kind before. Heck i still need to find out if i need out of state fishing license or not. Do you fish like you would any other lake or is their a "trick" to it.
Thanks in advance to your suggestions.

Fish with a huge bobber and bigger pole, get really drunk, and tell stories about the monster fish in your local lake. You will fit right in.
It has been 20+yrs since I have been to one of those places but stink bait seemed to be the trick back then. Use a bobber if it is weedy otherwise just let it sit on bottom. Good luck and enjoy your time with the parents.

I'd assume you are fishing for catfish. If so the best I ever used was limburger cheese mixed with hamburger and throw in a little dried mashed potato flakes. You have to allow the cheese to come to room temperature first before you mix. Smells like all get out but it works. Also had some luck with a crawler and leech. Seen a lot of luck with shrimp too. Never had much luck catching them on bottom. Majority were caught beneath a bobber. Most of the cats are bought from commercial fisherman out of the Ohio and thrown in there. Most don't get fed so they seem to be pretty hungry.

You can only hope they didn't feed the fish the night before you get there.
