If I am hunting on the Wabash River and shoot a fast flying wood duck that sails off into the woods,, my lab see's it going down and BAM off into the woods she goes!! 4 mins later after some tough nose work she comes back with the duck!! How does that play out in the legal book? I know what happens if I go and get the duck,, but what about the dog?
Thanks Pigeon

The dog is viewed as an extension of the hunter. The dog is not allowed to hunt any where the hunter doesn't have permission. However, our officers use good judgement when dealing with situations of this nature.
