So I was out squirrel hunting today in a new area I found in the hnf. The area I'm hunting is an old farmstead. All around the area there are these big piles of rocks that were piled up for what reason I don't know. I walked passed on and under one of the rocks I see a metal ammo can peeking out. Course all of a sudden I get excited. All I can think about is someone hid a stash of coins or hold or its money from a bank robbery. I won't lie the money was already spent. So I pick the can up and shake it. Yep something is in there. I pop it open and...a whole bunch of trinkets. Turns out it's from a Geo caching. Man the let down. Who would do something so evil? Last time it was found was 2001 according from a little notebook that was in there that you were supposed to sign when you found it. Best think was two other hunters found this besides me. I imagine they were as disappointed as I was. Nice to see there are still honest people out there that didn't steal it. I put it back and hid it again. Anyone else find one of these in the woods that wasn't looking for one. I have to say whoever put it there traveled a bit off the path to get it there.

I saw a guy stash one on the backside of a guardrail across the road from where I work. I thought he was up to no good so I checked it out. We found a young woman murdered in the exact same spot several years ago, that's why I was suspicious. He stuck a magnetic plastic container to the guardrail. All it had in it was a piece of paper with names and dates and a website to track it.

Yea I have found two different stashes one when hunting on the white river and one in mounds park.
I opened the one on the river not knowing what it was. It had junk in it. The one in the park was a ammo can. Left it without looking into it.

Many years ago, I found a wallet, while I was Squirrel Hunting, that another Hunter dropped. I took it to the property owner, as I didn't know who the wallet owner was. Anyway, I received a phone call from the property owner saying that the wallet was returned to the rightful owner. The person wanted to give me a reward but I said that wasn't necessary, only I was glad he got it back. That was reward enough for me.

It's a pretty popular hobby in some circles. I can see the appeal. If I ever find one I'll put something random inside, like a corncob, with a mysterious message inside, like "The crow flies at midnight."

....Or perhaps, "I hid the body. What's next, Antonio?"
