There is multipile advantages to shooting both eyes open. To do it without a blinder or patch, one must be shooting with the dominant eye. Having said that, shooting with both eyes open allows more light into the picture for a better aiming solution. One other point is I'm sure every one has heard to shoot with relaxed muscles. This allows your face muscles to relax allowing a more consistent shot as well. I have done it for years in my tournament shooting and hunting career, but now I'm at the stage in life where my eyes are changing. I often find my self squinting to get my sight picture back, so its about time to start shooting with glasses or contacts soon for me. If you can do it, it is great and will help you improve.
