I've noticed a few trees starting to change color already and I have a couple trees that are dropping leaves. My cherry tree's about bare even. Maybe it's me,I don't know.

Yep, got several tree almost bare in my yard, and the leaves have started to fall last week. Kids already have raked a leave pile to jump in. Very little rain here, creeks been dry for a while now. Just hope EHD doesn't start up again.

Nearly all the deciduous trees here in Central KY are still green. I have noticed Black Gum trees starting to turn though.

Opening day of squirrel season I noticed every buckeye tree was leafless. We have approximately 30% total leaf loss now and color has been changing for quite some time. I've seen corn fields almost ready to harvest and one that has been started, while at the same time I've only seen silage getting cut this week. It's been a strange year.

As I understand it (I'm no arborist by any means) trees turn colors for two reasons, lack of daylight hours and stress. I don't know that we'll see a total drop anytime soon but if we did it would make for an interesting bow season this year. That had always been my biggest hang up for bow seson, I could never see that far in the woods till really late in the season. Maybe that will be different this year.

20 inches of snow in parts of Wyoming ... 246 places have set records for the lowest highs so far in September. Man. This global warming sure stinks.

I have noticed the same thing. I have had to rake and blow the front yard twice already, because of all of the leaves. I noticed some color yesterday, while driving around as well.
