I think the most important thing you need to remember is the word PUBLIC. Whats wrong with the trophy rock, if he doesn't hunt till gun season he has plenty of time to remove it and make the area legal to hunt.

I do want to clarify my position that I don't condone doing any of the things above unless the guy next door has become so absolutely repugnant that there is no choice but to be a passive aggressive jerk. I'd much rather live and let live, make friends and cooperate but sometimes people just won't stop the harassment. I've been subjected to so much harassment simply because I am a female hunter that I have had to learn very quickly how to protect myself and fight back against harassment because the laws really do not have as much teeth as people think they do. I really do like most of the CO's I have met and had nothing but positive experiences, but unfortunately, there is very little they can do with hunter harassment sometimes. I refuse to be a victim and sit around waiting for someone to fix my problems. Sometimes the only way to deal with a bully is to beat them into submission.
Literally, I have had a truck try to run me over on a levee near my decoy spread while duck hunting, I've had tree stand straps cut in a manner to cause a fall if I climbed it, and been peppered with bird shot deliberately. After the stuff I have been subjected to, I would welcome someone whose idea of harassment was simply to run around the woods in a Santa suit. At least then it would be funny and entertaining and I wouldn't be worried about getting hurt.

I hope those people were dealt with by the law and you don't have to deal with that again! Not good!

Unfortunately in all 3 cases, little could be done except documentation by law enforcement. You would be amazed how hard it is to read a license plate when you have to roll over into a ditch! I got the first 3 numbers but he was driving way too fast to read the others, plus my glasses got knocked off during the tumble. Either I was camouflaged extremely well laying on top of the levee or the guy really was out to hurt me. Vehicles were not supposed to be back there anyway, it was a designated hunting area. He was long gone before any kind of law enforcement showed up.
Same thing with the guy who peppered me, he was long gone before a CO could arrive. Thankfully, it didn't break skin. I would like to think that it wasn't deliberate but the manner in which it was done was not very convincing.

Good luck and hopefully you can get this resolved peacefully. Honestly, There isn't anything to resolve. There is a stand and camera on public ground that happens to be some 50 yards from a stand on private property. As long as each party hunts there spot and doesn't try to interfere with the other, it is already resolved. Agreed!
