Came home today and they have the semis in the field and started cutting the corn already. Several fields already done and gone. May not be any corn or soybeans around in a few weeks.

Not sure what part of the state you are in but here in Central IL they are just getting started. With the high yields they have projected plus the high moisture levels of the corn do to the mild summer it is going to be a long harvest. There will probably still be lots of farmers in the fields come thanksgiving.
Most of the beans around me haven't even started to turn yet. I bet the majority of the soybean harvest doesn't start until mid October

I have seen one field harvested. The rest are still green and will be awhile before it comes down.

First harvesting activity I saw was in a bean field about two weeks ago.

I've seen a few cornfields picked already. Beans are still green as is most of the corn.

This is no joke -- the cornfields near my home are harvested each year during the week between firearms and muzzleloader seasons. Seriously -- December!

Only field done already up here was a field they harvested into the silage bins. The rest shouldn't be too soon, moisture content is probably too high.

From what I am seeing and farmer's telling me it would appear that harvest will be slightly behind schedule this year. Yes, harvest has begun in river bottom ground but it is usually first to go, with cool temp's in Aug and so far in Sept with above average moisture thing's are behind. On a positive note the cooler temps and wet fall should keep EHD in check this year

No corn or soybean fields in my area. Nearest field of corn is some 10 miles from my place; mostly grazing grounds & forests around my area.

Several corn fields on the sand ground in Bartholomew Co. have been harvested. Good friend climbed in his combine last week and said it will be a LONG harvest with the current yields and hopes to be done by gun season. No beans around this area look to be ready yet.

The only reason guys by me have started is because the COOP has put on discounted drying right now because they have trains coming in. Stopped by this morning and the average moisture is 25% so needless to say if there wasn't cheap drying right now most of those farmers would be waiting a couple weeks.
