With urban season now open, I am looking for deer processors in the south western Indiana area OUTSIDE OF THE Kenny Dewig thing, harder to find ones in the area than I thought, Thanks in advance for any help. If you know the cost for basic processing it would be nice. I think $90 is just too high.

I think $90 is a fair price, if the work is top notch. I process some myself, and take some to Drew (not sure of last name) on Hwy 50 west of Bedford. He does a good job, and when it's warm it's easier to just take them in rather than worry about the heat.

I've got a Hobart Steak master 403 tenderizer for sale $500. I have two and would sell if anyone's interested. I use them ONLY for deer and with only using for an hour or so(max) a year, don't need two. I tenderize EVERYTHING I cut into steaks, loins and back straps included. Can't beat it. Don't have any pics available right now but you can Google it if anyone is interested and ill get some pics of mine ASAP. DM me if interested.

I am not sure how far you want to go, but Sanders and Ferdinand processing in Dubois County both have good reputations. Dewig is a huge operation and you are more likely to NOT get your particular deer meat back. On the other hand, $90 does not seem unreasonable.
With the above said, I started processing my own deer about ten years ago and will never go back. I bought a nice grinder w/tenderizer attachment from Cabela's and picked up a used stuffer. I have obtained a few other essentials along the way and can now do the same processing that any professional shop can. However, I know how the meat has been handled from hoof to package and I am assured to get ONLY my deer back. I have let a few select friends join in the process. They use my equipment and skill in trade for good bourbon. No complaints from me!

I know this is out of your area, but for everyone's FYI there is a guy in Monticello Indiana, I will get his number and post as soon as I can, that does processing for 40.00 per deer. Does a great job. I used him twice last year no complaints. Must have tag or online confirmation for deer. He normally has flyers posted everywhere.

If you know the cost for basic processing it would be nice. I think $90 is just too high. I once took a Deer to Dewig's and they did a very poor job of processing my Deer. This was my second Deer harvest for that particular Season, and I was too busy to process the Deer myself, so I took it up to him. When I received it back they had it mostly ground-up into Burger which I didn't want, call them and made a complaint. The person I talked to said my Deer was "Shot-up" too badly but I told him that my Deer, that they "bungled", was shot in the neck. This was back in 1997 and was a Doe I shot in Ky. So I decided, since Deer (Gun) Indiana season was still in; I shot another Deer (Buck) on my property in Evansville, and cut & wrapped it myself. The price for Deer processing at that time (1997) was $65. I still believe I received someone else's Deer, that a Hunter shot-up. There was a fellow that just lived about a mile from my Evansville home, near Oak Meadow golf course & village; that use to butcher Deer, and he did an excellent job and only charged $45. But he no longer lives in Evansville.

I try to do my own but when I can't I go to Lonnie's in Haubstadt.
Used them since I started hunting. Good people, clean shop, never had a problem with their work.

If we're just getting burger and steaks I go to a local Amish guy who charges like $40...basic steak and burger only but for that price we love it!

I second Lonnies. Used him several times before I started processing my own. Very quick turn around as well.

I have used Sanders in Celestine for quite a while. They always do a great job and now they vacuum pack the steaks and roasts.
