I dont know about you guys but for blackford county this year the mosquitoes are INSANE!!!! I decided that it would be worth giving a thermacell a shot at least for the beginning of the season. Just curious if anyone else uses them and what their thoughts are.

We were setting outside at a wedding this past weekend. The table down from us had one setting out. They were swatting as much as we were. This is my only experience with them

I have 3!!!! Mosquitoes are terrible up here. Had some bear hunters from down south that had them but reluctant to use them on stand, finally had enough and turned them on and they said it was like magic...LOL

Just got back from bow hunting in Minnesota for a week. Believe me they have some bugs. Used the thermacell with great success.

I used mine squirrel hunting. The fuel cell was low and I knew exactly when it ran out. I have the holster with mine and I carry spare fuel and strips. Never used it in the wind but usually mosquitoes are not that bad then anyhow. Used it on the patio which is kind of confined and never got bit. I am told they don't work for ticks.

We're heading to SC in a few weeks and will be doing quite of bit of fishing along the ICW in the salt marshes creeks and tributaries-we will probably have at least two of them going in the boat IF the wind is not blowing too much! However for some of the small creeks we get into the Thermocells are a MUST!!...it's either that or long sleeves, long pants and headnets!!!

I use my ThermaCell year round every time I go outside. It is great for fishing, I just clip it on my belt & it protects me wherever I go.

I'm sitting on my deck now...with the thermacell fired up.
No problems for ten minutes.. All of a sudden a skeeter buzzes me. I look at the thermacell and it had run out of fuel..
It works...

How do they not spook deer? How much do they cost? How long do they last?

How do they not spook deer? How much do they cost? How long do they last? If a deer smells the thermacell then they will smell you too. Not too expensive. I think the last one I bought was $24.95? Refills are where they get you. There are ways to refill the fuel cartridges , but I haven't figured out how to recharge the pads..
