I just got through to reserve my area for the Nov. 2 gun hunt. Got through at 8:08 on my 60th dial attempt! Got my 3rd choice which was area 64. Never been in there but I liked the looks of it. It's 254 acres and they allow 4 hunters in it. Anyone ever been in that zone? It's on the SE corner of the property.

My first time at Big oaks. I got in at 8:06 and got area 58. I hope it's a good area. My reasoning for 58 is that I wouldn't have to drive a long way to my spot plus the creek looked appealing. Any pointers on this area?

I killed a small non-typical 9 pointer in area 58 last year (about 95 inches). I hunted the creek bottom right in a big bend of the creek. That was the only deer I saw that day. I'm told that there have been a lot of non-typical Bucks taken from that area. Here is a pic of the buck I killed in there last year.

Thanks for the tip. I think that is a fine looking public land buck. I would be tempted by him even on my leases since he is unique.

took me about 90 tries but I finally go thru at 8:45, they told me anything (number wise) above 42 was already filled up. We are in zone 42 on Nov 8th-9th, never hunted the west side of the property aside from area 6 so this should be interesting. Looks really flat but a lot of hardwoods. It's always an adventure going down there so I look forward to it!

I was curious if anybody has hunted 65 and would share some advice? I realize it's fairly small and a square piece of property. However, since I only get once chance and it's a long drive, I'd like to make the most of my hunt. I've hunted 33 & 64 and would be willing to share anything that I know with anybody.
Thanks guys!
Greg
