Im hunting a big blown dpwn between a thicket and oaks. Just had a 1.5 year old chocolate horned 8 point and a big bodied fork horn pass in front of me at 8'. Think my scent control is working?

Just had 2 does come down the ridge vacuuming up acorns at about 50 yards. Pretty good morning so far.

My oaks are still dropping acorns like crazy! I don't remember seeing so many around my place as I have this year.

Heard and saw lots of squirrels, no deer. Pulled card from trail cam over 2 scrapes that are within 5' of each ohter - no pictures in 2 days, just of the idiot that put it there. So I kow the camera works.......
There's a huge crop of acorns, so I haven't been able to figure out a pattern for the deer. They can eat acorns no matter where they walk.

Hung a stand yesterday trying to move in on a couple of bucks I've been getting pictures of. Shortly after sunrise, I saw one of them with a doe and yearling about 200 yards out. Something spooked him and he took off the other way. The doe and button buck walked right passed me.

I think the deer are getting sick of acorns. I thought I heard a fawn this morning bleat, "Ah, mom, acorns again???" The mother answered back, "there are starving fawns in Africa, eat what's before you!"

Lol.

I am sitting in the faithful fence row tonight. North wind. Brought the decoy. Going to try a little rattling soon. It's been quite a few years since I killed an indiana Buck.

Got all the way to the farm I planned to hunt and realized that I forgot my bow at home. LOL! I'm finally in a tree, but the wind is marginal.

Although I am not live from the stand, it seems like a great night to harvest a deer! Best wishes to you all!

My brother hunted our parents place tonight in Dearborn county. Seen 3 bucks and a doe. Missed a spike at 36 yards. Intriguing thing was the 8 point. He described a mature deer. Huge body with a rack outside his ears and long tines. Watched him make a scrape before leaving the food plot. Between the 2 of us today we seen 8 bucks and 5 does.

Heading out with my boy this morning. Going to take the crossbow and sit in the tank. He has never shot one with anything other than his 44 mag.
