Not saying it's wrong to vote for them (as I have voted that way in the past myself for local candidates), but just don't be surprised if their voice gets drowned out (more often than not) in Washington.

She had a small chance until this, but Grimes not admitting she voted for Obama was dumb and now she's on her own....and likely done.

Yep,,, she would have been better off admitting the votes and then say "it was a mistake".. Admitting she voted for Obama while saying she didn't agree with him on certain issues would have been reasonable. I don't know anyone who figured she voted for anyone else in the general election. But...instead, she played the "I'm going to distance myself from Obama to prove my independence" card too far and p*ssed off the check writers in Washington. And that likely means....game, set, match.

Much bigger deal than some staffers being secretly recorded.

Much bigger deal than some staffers being secretly recorded. Regardless what some of her staffers being recorded were saying; she's simply not qualified to be a Senator. She has "Zero" experience while Mitch has 30 years of experience. She is an Obama "Puppet" pure & simple and nothing else.

Much bigger deal than some staffers being secretly recorded. The difference is the refusal to tell who she voted for was broadcast far and wide. The videos were never given any play except by the conservative media. More of the liberal media's "ignore it and it will go away" tact for the Dems... They had to cover the denial as it was part of the debate..

I wonder why the conservative media didnt run it? The biggest talk and television media shows in the United States are conservative.
Nah ... it just wasnt a big deal.
Refusing to tell who she voted for is something that resonates with voters .... secretly recording staffers is not.

And Mitch is an incumbent that is supposedly something that America hates right now. We are our own worst enemy ... keep on sending them back. Keep that in mind anytime a person feels like complaining about the state of our union .... WE THE PEOPLE keep re-electing the same old politicians.

And not revealing her vote was the best they could come up with Last time I Voted it was a SECRET Ballot I applauder her for not giving in to that when Mitch was elected 30 yrs ago what was his experience? so Im not caving in to that either

Agree but her refusal did seem to resonate.
Its a rather silly question .... everyone knows who she voted for. But .... considering everyone knows, it was a poor political decision for her to refuse to answer.

Like I said earlier....Grimes tried to distance herself from Obama and the "I'm not going to say who I voted for" strategy came across less as a voter right and more as "I'm just another politician who will say whatever it takes to win" and it blew up on her.
She should have admitted to what we already knew (that she voted for Obama), continued to try and point out the areas in which she differed from Obama and asked McConnell if he agreed with every position that President Bush, John McCain and Mitt Romney took during their campaigns and if that kept him for voting for his parties nominees.
Instead, she blew it and McConnell will (more likely than not) head back to D.C. for another term, illustrating one of my original points....
Americans complain about their Congress people and Senators, yet we continue to send them back, over and over and over again expecting a different result.
It's no wonder this country is in the shape it is.

Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result .... thank you Mr Einstein.

We got a president that was elected with very, very little experience and look what we got.. Hopefully that was a lesson to all voters that some sort of experience is good versus "rock star qualities"..

Give me some common sense, intelligence and honesty over "Experience" any day of the week.
Cant get rid of the incumbents and elect people with "Experience" at the same time ....

I'll go with experience. The other two you listed are determined by "Human Nature", as well as the particular person running for office.

Not surprising.
So a person with the IQ of a cannoli, who lies at every opportunity and without enough common sense to come in out of the rain would be just fine by you as long as they had somehow managed to win office for a number of years in the past.
I would say unbelievable .... but I wouldnt mean it.

I'm not necessarily talking about political experience.. WAAAYYY too many folks are elected because they are photogenic, charismatic and can read a teleprompter well..and have big money backing....

As far as experience goes, when McConnell won his first term in the Senate he was the Jefferson County Judge/Executive in Jefferson County, Kentucky and he had never held a statewide office. Also, he replaced a two term Senator (Walter "Dee" Huddleston).
So in that particular election, experience was trumped by voter dissatisfaction and good ads (by McConnell).
