I saw once on Animal Planet showing a man being attacked by a buck after spraying elk urine in his mouth. Yes...sprayed it in his mouth. Some people go to desperate measures trying to cover their own scent.

I have some left over doe pee, I think IF anything we will use that as a cover scent.

In 30 years of hunting I've only had it bring in bucks twice but both times they came in walking fast only stopping occasionally to look around quickly and then continue on. I've used so many kinds and it's been so long since it's worked I couldn't say what kind they were. I've never had it spook any off that I know of. I'm to the point I really don't worry about it as much anymore,it seems sort of pointless.

Only thing I use is Earth cover scent to mask my scent but I use it all season long.

As far as scrape scents go, I carry my own with me in my personal bladder. Human urine is as good as any. I've pee'd in many a scrape. Try it, it works! So do you have estrus pheromones in your urine? I normally extract urine from any doe I shoot, then use it throughout the season, it works well...you can also go around when there is snow on the ground and scoop up urine soaked snow in to a ziploc bag and freeze it..then simply melt the snow and bottle the liquid..I've been getting free REAL deer urine for years using these two methods.

/rofl The top one showing you apply the "scent" is priceless. If anyone cares female pee also works. I did it one time for the heck of it and the next day the scrape was torn into a 5 ft wide area, 5 and they made new ones every 10ft for 75yrds. I guess it made them mad.

New car scent works too...deer are curious creatures..In fact, the study i read tested all kinds of scent in a scrape and the new car scent brought more deer in than Tink's 69..go figure

Placed some Tink's 69 "doe-in-heat" scent, one on a scrape, and some placed in four different areas several yards from each location. Well, just after I returned to my house, I saw a Spike show-up plus a 4 or 6-pointer. They made their "rounds" and each one visited the spots I placed the scent. While I am certain the bulk of the Deer are in the woods, a few (mostly Doe & young Bucks) do come out of the woods into open areas. So I think I have a good handle on their movement patterns here.

While I have doubts using "New Car" odor and even "Burritos" will drawn in Deer; these STRANGE ODORS will normally spook Deer. They don't exist in nature or in there normal habitat. Now those who use their own urine in scrapes; this won't work if you drink coffee or any type spicy food before crawling into your stand. your urine will have a coffee odor and some foods odors, and even some vitamins will give your urine an odor that will spook Deer.

Deer are curious animals. My Dad used orange peelings in his tree for cover scent and attractants for years during the 70's, he killed his share of nice bucks. He swore by the orange peelings..never tried them myself as I don't like to use any scents, except red fox, for cover scent.

I found your suggestion using "Burritos & New Car Odor" a bit on the unusual side. Now with your father using orange peels, Virginia Pines have a very similar odors, so this [might] not scare Deer.
