Sounds like they have a suspect. This goes beyond hunter harassment. More like attempted murder...

Judging by the fact that part of the tree was cut, which would allow a fatal accident to the user; I'd say this was an attempt of murder. Also cutting that tree shows that the perpetrator has no interest in protecting trees or wildlife. Just a SICK gesture, and hope they catch him, before he does it to another Hunter.

It might go beyond hunter harassment but I doubt additional charges would stick. I think I might have to take out my own justice if someone did that to me.

I had my daughter's ladder stand destroyed, my son's stand straps unhooked, and my strap buckles unhooked on a stand 30 feet in the air. I knew who did it, filed the DNR report, the CO (a friend) told me that I knew an arrest wouldn't happen because he wouldn't admit to it. The point that I knew who the culprit was got conveyed, and the person hasn't taken the risk of being caught on the property since.

greetings oh yes,not so much up here is the less densely populated north but down south you check the high seats for razor blades were you would grab to pull oneself up, and nails sticking up through the seat. These antis are just pure evil and certainly mental. regards Billy

Looks like something my father in law would do sadly enough. Glad to hear that they have a suspect at least.

I would think that they could be charged with tresspassing, destruction of property and charge them the replacement. Can not tell the kind of tree but if oak could be expensive
