Reported green score is 218.
If that is accurate and it doesn't shrink more than 5 inches it will be the new record.
213 is the record.
Here is the story from a friend/relative who lives 45 minutes from there.
"The guy who killed it had never seen it before and said he got to the stand late was flying to get there and was only on the stand for 14 mins . Cabelas has done offered him 100000 for the replica rights is what the rumor is
He said he knew it was big but nothing like that till he got up on it then he called the game warden he came to the woods to check it out and he said he knew it was big when the game warden was shaking lol"
That is a quote from the text he sent me. He normally does not tell tall tales. We shall see...

More info...
The buck was killed in Glade Springs, Virginia. That is just north of Abingdon in the SW corner of the state...a very mountainous area. Certainly not an area with a big buck reputation. This is less than an hours drive from where I used to hung on my grandpas place in Upper East Tenn. That's where my friend/relative source lives.

Met, We see this every year where someone claims a new world record. It's a ten point versus the Hanson 12 points and a lot longer length tines. Long tines is what really adds up the score.Lost of mass on that deer though...and some score deducting garbage.., He "might" gross 218, but the net will fall way short... The Hanson buck...

I had forgotten Hansons was 213 .... was thinking it was under 210. I dont think this one will net 190.
Believe me ... ive seen it in a photograph so I know exactly what I am talking about.

I'm not saying one way or another. I'll just say, we shall see. I'm continuing my research. I won't commit...I hate eating crow.

I do know this...a lot of hunters are like me, I'm pretty good at judging bucks in the 130-160 range, because I've seen quite a few. When it comes to 200" class deer, I'm out of my league. A lot of folks didn't think the Beck Buck was over 300"...they got a crow supper. With this buck, I have no clue. Mass is key, and it has it in spades. That's the wildcard.

Either way I'd fall out of my tree if I saw that thing walking my direction.
