Not sure many here will sound off like those threatening this guy. He shot a legal deer with a legal weapon, bottom line. Regardless of his motive -sympathy or a trophy-, he did nothing wrong.
People must be mistaking this genetically inferior animal with a unicorn or a liger. Yep, that's a Napoleon Dynamite reference.

It would be a full body mount in my living room.

Considering ive only seen two I dont think making the decision will ever come into play ..... In all my years of deer hunting I have seen two. One was a button that I had at 20 yards with a bow and passed... The last one seen in my area was about 15 years ago and John Trout Jr. killed it.

Actually ... I have only seen one true albino. The other deer was a nearly all white piebald ....

Had an albino buck across the street from me for a couple years. No one shot it during hunting season, left him alone. Then came the poacher who shot him from the road one night. He got caught.
Seen one piebald since, my buddy shot it. Gonna get the cape tanned, the processor said he would put it in the walk in freezer for him. Well, the freezer didn't freeze and he lost that cape. All the hair fell out of it.

Would you shoot it just because it was white or would it have to meet whatever standards you normally apply as well?
I would be much more likely to kill an albino doe than an albino buck simply because I would lower my standards on the buck just because he was white.

I killed an albino doe several years ago. It tasted just like a brown one. Sold the head and cape on Ebay for 165.00. Sent it overnight delivery to a taxidermist in Ohio.

We had one on the property we hunt several years back. When that deer was alive, we had all kinds of trespassers. My brother took her out and we made sure all of the neighbors saw it. Ended the trespassers. He has it hanging on the wall. Beautiful mount!

Kill em all...inferior genetics are bad for the deer herd.

Those hostile people just show their ignorance. Albinos, old or not, usually have other problems that they can pass on to offspring. He did this unique deer a favor. A terrible death was not far off.

Ditto, although I would view the two equally since I don't trophy hunt. Meat is meat, and a white deer is an easier target. I would tan and keep the hide though, it would make a novel buckskinner coat.
