They are nuisance animals that cause tons of ecological damage and this guy goes on about trapping them and relocating them to an unfenced area to run free to wreak havoc on new areas all for the sake of a genuine experience for money paying clients. I thought doing stuff like that with invasive species was a criminal act?

I've said it before and I'll say it again-I have a very hard time trying to figure out why someone would pay to hunt a non-native, highly destructive pest that is rapidly reproducing!!! I also can't help but wonder if the same people that are charging people to hunt these pests are not part of the reason for why these destructive non-native pests are continuing to increase and not being eliminated or greatly reduced?? After all why kill off a good source of income from people that won't take the time to plan, organize and carry out an elimination hunt on their own It would be one thing to pay to have a lease to hunt them on but even then how many of the leasers would actually take the time to try to eliminate the pest?!?!?! Wake up people!!!! If I had my way it would be illegal to charge anything to hunt these NON-NATIVE destructive pests anywhere in the US....as soon as the profit margin is taken away then the population should also be taken away because then there will be no reason to keep them around.....but then there are people that also believe that non-native invasive plants are also good for a healthy deer population

Things are already getting out of hand as it is. New York has already begun implementing a ban on hog hunting by hunters because of exactly what the guys in this article Woody posted are doing. www.syracuse.com/outdoors/index.ssf/2014/04/dec_bans_hunting_and_trapping_of_wild_boar_in_new_york.htmlBy all means if people want to have a nice 5000 acre secure high fence hunting preserve to go "hog wild" hunting then carry on. I've heard it's great fun and obviously pigs are delicious as long as they aren't boars. But to allow people to trap and relocate hogs to anyplace but a butcher, secure high fence ranch or research facility is foolish. I'm even leaning towards not even allowing them in a high fence operation either...hogs are pretty hard to keep in, hence why most hog farmers raise them on concrete. Having firsthand experience with wild pigs in a research setting I can honestly say these animals are not something that should be allowed to roam around unchecked.

What you mention about hunting hogs for profit not only with Hogs But Asian Carp as well because when lots of money is involved the need for management arises DoWe want to wipe these pest off the face of the earth or manage them for a few for profit the choice for me is simple get rid of them

I would think you would let hunters on yor land to eradicate this problem. I will not pay to hunt them.

I just watched a video on U tube about hunting wild hogs from a Helicopter. The guys were using AR's and doing very well. They killed a bunch of these wild hogs while they were running across the ground. One guy has a machine gun that he was using in short bursts. Some of the guys were using EOTech EXPS2's (the buttons were on the back not the side) and they have the battery across the front perpendicular to the line of sight) And the EOTech guy was hitting the hogs hard with one shot kills. Now these guys were flying low to the ground in a helo and the hogs were running full speed. But this one guy was hitting the hogs like there was no tomorrow. I was impressed with his on the move shooting. Although the Helicopter was pretty much traveling in the same direction as the hog and at about the same speed making the shots a little bit easier. Then later on in the video the guys in the other helicopter were using some type of red dot scope that may have been Aim points. And they shot some hogs pretty good to. Although it was a different shooter and he had to take a few more shots before he got going. I can't tell if it was just the shooters or the optics that made a slight different in the amount of dead hogs. Both shooters were killing hogs right and left. There were sometimes 6 or 7 hogs running in a group when they were being shot.
I wish I could have been with them as it looked like a fun way to spend the day in the field. LOL And it was putting a hurt on the hogs in that area.

You should look up Ted Nugent and Pigman laying them out. Nugent goes full auto on them for a while.
