Have any of you encountered this while skinning out a squirrel? I have come across this in the past maybe once, but this is second time I have seen this hunting this year. Not sure what it is.

Is that the front or the rear of the squirrel.

Yes, I've seen this many times on older male Squirrels. It could be one of two things, either just fat or it could be a tumor. The Squirrel is safe to eat though. However, I have shot a few older male Squirrels that had Prostate Cancer, which is common in old male Squirrels. You see this enlarged tumor where the prostate is located.

I just got a squirrel with the exact same thing last weekend. It was a large old male fox, everything else looked fine on him, so I processed as usual. I didn't even think anything of it. Hope that was a good idea?
