I was at Soldier Field for the Bears game and then listened to not quite the first half of the Colts game on the way home and I couldn't handle that any more. Hopefully they got all of them bad vibes out of their system and will play better next week and into the playoffs.

Yeah, hard to say. Sometimes the Colts don't show up and their inept twins use their uniforms.
I have a somewhat cynical nature and tend to look for a cause that may not be one they would publicly pronounce. Maybe something like you see when the teams at the bottom of the standings play at exhibition-game speed and intensity as the end of the season nears and the race is obviously for the first draft pick.
Wouldn't seem to apply in this case, as the 'Boys are in anyway and there's no apparent benefit to the Colts in losing to advance a weaker team instead of one they would rather not see again.
I can see resting a couple of stars to avoid their getting hurt in a meaningless win. Many coaches claim that tactic is counter-productive, but it still seems to be employed by others.
Only other devious motivation that comes to mind would be pulling their punches in a rope-s-dope strategy so the 'Boys will have reduced expectations if they meet us again in a couple weeks with more on the line.
In any case, they certainly rebounded well after the mid-season meltdown that left them looking just about as helpless, so we'll see if they heal as quickly this time. Was good to watch Hasselbeck out there loosening up the old joints and showing he still has some stuff. Looked very competent for an old fellow.

AFC and NFC ... the only way they meet in the future is in the Super Bowl.
It was mathematically possible for the Colts to move up in seeding ... possibly as high as a number 2 with a bye week .. if they had won out and gotten a little help from some other teams. Instead, they came out and laid an egg and are currently sitting at the #4 and face a home game against the Steelers (subject to change in week 17 of course).
With each team playing at their best, the Cowboys are a better team. When the Cowboys play pretty good (not great) and the Colts dont play well you end up with a 42-7 beating.

Would not surprise me at all if they lost their first playoff game.
