wow.. wonder what their side of the story is ? Cannot imagine anyone airing a tv show knowingly not having permission to hunt, but then again when you take money for commercials from companies you have to produce a Tv show to air them on

Even though I'm not a huge fan of the shows; this kind of thing hurts all of us.

Where's Span870 to commnet on the" Pro Hunters". What? Didn't he say something along the lines of they could hunt the same type of land we all do and do it better? Well obviously these guys didn't just show up and sit in a pre-scouted stand a shoot a deer.

Where's Span870 to commnet on the" Pro Hunters". Well I've seen on Facebook that DNR just popped another hunter for poaching in Indiana. So how did you poach your deer this year? Bait, spotlight??? I mean I figure if you want to lump all them in together we might as well lump everyone together. Again I ask. How many have you met? How many properties have you seen that they hunt? I know a buddy of a buddy said... Also again you haven't answered me. What are YOU willing to give up to get the property like they have. Jealousy will eat you up. Let it go. How many outfitted hunts have you been on. Again. A buddy knows a guy that... Ive been on many. Trust me these deer are not tied to a tree. Yes they are pre-scouted but that's what I'm paying for. I still have to go out and find a deer and kill him. Sure would like to know these outfitters that tie the deer up. Saved me a lot of money. At no point in time did I say they could hunt property better than any of us. I said they wouldn't. If you had 1000 acres to hunt would you hunt someone's 50 acre spread?

I wonder how many times the Waddells or their crew members have been fined. I saw a show of theirs the other day and they were joking about how many times one guy was fined.

wow.. wonder what their side of the story is ? Cannot imagine anyone airing a tv show knowingly not having permission to hunt, but then again when you take money for commercials from companies you have to produce a Tv show to air them on I thought the same thing John..Can't imagine someone being that stupid...but when there's money involved, and ego's, who knows? Ridge.. there is a LOT of pressure on these guys to produce shows and with all the craze over antlers, to shoot big bucks...if you don't put down kills on video, you don't get paid. I just make short goofy videos, I have been lucky some guys in the industry felt sorry for me and I get to go to the conventions and meet these folks that do it for a living. Most are AWESOME people, but don't doubt that they will change bow companies or whatever for more money, just like none of us would turn down a job that offered us more money for doing the same thing. Does that make them bad people, no. I do not know the other side of this story, sounds like something is fishy, maybe one deer trespassed and shot, but all those ? Sounds like someone ( landowner) got mad or didn't get paid and turned on them. There is always two sides to a story. I usually put my faith in the Officers, but we have to remember you are innocent until proven guilty. As for going to outfitters... well its part of the game.. you have 4 months to hunt and you need to put 4-8 deer on the ground and on video.. traveling it required, not all TV hunters are independently wealthy and own property all over the country. So they go to Outfitters.. who have the land and scout the deer.. its a trade off, no different then butchering your own deer or taking it in to be processed.. all a matter of money/time. I got to go to Buffalo Mountain Ranch in Texas last year.. luckily it was paid for.. but it was a ranch, 4400 acres. Hunt for hogs... trying to eliminate the hogs on the ranch. Things didnt' work out, but I had to get a kill on video, so the guide ( who was awesome) took us to another 23K acre ranch they have access to, low fence. WE spent 6 hours and numerous stalks until I was able to get a hog killed on video. Talk about pressure and this was for my goofy videos.. not for a network show that your getting paid big bucks by sponsors and advertisers. I got to meet a long time videographer and become friends with him. His last big job was filming Tred Barta ( boy does he have stories) anyway, this guy has filmed a ton of the big hunting and fishing guys. He was asked once if all those fishing shows were totally real and his response was and always is " did they film Star Wars in space ?". When you are under pressure to put down film it is not so easy.

Bowhunterjohn, I enjoy your videos ..." real world hunting". I fully understand everything you mentioned above...and i agree 100%...I've met some down to earth good guys in the hunting industry. Some are legit, many are a joke...but i also realize it's entertainment just like many other TV shows..much is scripted, rehearsed ,much work is done for the hunter before they show up etc..I could go on and on...some are real world hunters they scout, plant food plots, run cameras, hang stands, trim lanes and plan how to kill big bucks...other just get off the tour bus, walk to a tree stand, make the shot, take a hero picture and get back on the bus, move on to the next outfitter and repeat.
