FOXBORO, Mass. - A source within the NFL tells wthr.com's Bob Kravitz that the league is investigating the possibility that the Patriots deflated footballs in their win over the Colts Sunday night. t.co/OHZ1KL5UqI

This is all according to Kravitz. CBS sports, sb nation, all stories according to Kravitz. Seems strange to be NFL.com nor ESPN not running a story on it. He's grasping straws looking for an excuse. Take the passes away, Colts still get beat by three TD's. Pats are a better team. Colts can't finish. Couldn't with Manning, can't with Luck.

Belichick and John Calipari are the two slimiest creatures in sports. They literally turn my stomach.

Doubt there are many coaches or players that wouldnt try any advantage they thought they could get away with.
That said....I personally doubt there is anything to this story. A ball could be filled to the minimum psi allowed while inside a 90* room and by the time that ball was used in the game at colder temps the ball might be a pound under.
ESPN reports the colts organization wants this story to go away.....

A deflated ball does not give the Patriots a 38 point advantage. Besides that wouldn't it also help the opposing offense as well? Breakfast as McDonald's was worth the price of admission this morning to hear all the justification as to why the Colts lost.

Are you saying Manning and the Colts never finished and won the Super Bowl? Once. How many times did they choke and couldn't finish? The same with Luck. He's a decent qb during the season but can't finish when necessary. Here's what's going to come out of this. Nothing. Nothing has come from the NFL that they are investigating. If the NFL took a ball off the field, which they do on a regular basis, just to check, that is an investigation. Just get tired every time the Pats beat the colts there is an excuse.

It was also reported that this was a common occurrence with ALL NFL teams. The reporter that broke the story was also quoted at a later time stating he wished he would have kept his mouth shut about it and that the Pats certainly weren't the only ones doing it.

Each team uses their own balls.....if the Pats did it the colts didn't use the same balls.

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't one of the Indianapolis Colt's star defensive players currently serving a suspension for multiple performance enhancement drug violation's?? His excuse. He was using a FEMALE fertility drug, which has been used many times before as a covering agent for a popular synthetic steriod. Should NFL go back and penalize the Colt's??? New England receiver's didn't seem to have any problem catching Andrew Luck's passes (balls) LOL

Mathis suspension might be over also. Think he got hurt after serving his suspension, but regardless he's a aging player that turned to PHD's to prolong his career.

Ah well in that case the Colts must have deflated thier ball as well since the Patriots didn't seem to have any trouble catching those as well. ;-)
