Got this in an email.. What do all think?Hey, ... Attached is a picture (purported to be from a trail cam)in which you can clearly see a hound ... and not so clearly see what everyone is saying is a "black panther" following it. You'll have to pull the pic and blow it up to see. See what you think. I remain the skeptic I've always been ... I don't know what it is. I can see why people think it's a pic of a large cat, but on the other hand, something about it just doesn't look right to me. What do you think? Put it on the hunting forum. See what folks say. If you mention me, just make it clear that I draw no conclusions. An interesting pic, in any case. This was taken (so they say) in northern Henry County, IN ... recently.

Well if there's a hound missing in the area, might be on to something.
It looks too large to be a house cat compared to the dog. But depth perception is tricky...

I think it looks more like a big bob cat. The coloration does not look "black" to me. At that distance a bobcat would have a solid color

This is an easy one. Was this trail can pic taken in Indiana? If it was it is not a black panther. The only way it could be is an escaped African panther. There has NEVER been a known case of a black mountain lion confirmed EVER in the world. Now sure a jaguar from deep south america could have traveled through mexico and through the united states all the way to Indiana but come on. Love these stories.

Finally got the pic blown up.
I agree that the thing has a certain feline look to it's gait; but it could also be a dog with it's head turned toward the camera. however if you look close it is obvious that that two critters are in the same part of the photograph--- in other words there is no false perspective--- so they are nearly the same size.
The problem with it being a big cat (escaped or otherwise) and a dog is that the cat should be longer and taller if they are in the same part of the picture, which I believe they are.
Therefore I say if the first critter is a hound, (and to me that blob could be anything )then the second one is a hound. If the second is a house cat then the first one is too.
My vote: two house cats.
