I got steel in the ground the other day, an my suburban to the axles, the ground was a little soft, oh an the john deere. Lucky for me the john has a loader an i was able to craw out. What a mess i made. Anyways yesterday morning my traps were a blank. Im working today but my buddy will be heading out to check my traps in about an hour. Fingers crossed. I know very little about trapping, I know hard to believe right? I had spotted coyotes an foxes 3 or 4 times in the past couple years while deer an turkey hunting. We only scored 1 coyote last year in the area im disscussing right now. IDK if putting traps out late IE Feburary or the weather IE frozen ground one day an a muddy mess the next dirt holes filling up with water, trap beds also had anything to do with it? I think maybe the scent from walking the field edge everyday maybe had something to do with it. But the one coyote we caught was caught on the 9th day. We found several tracks in the snow last year, an yes i know some of them couldve been the same yote, found several bobcat tracks as well, but havent actually seen one in the area before. I placed traps this year were little disturbance in required to check the traps. In hopes to leave less scent behind. Anyone else doing any good?
