Same here in LaPorte County, but it's already starting to melt off luckily. They said it wasn't supposed to be an issue with tree damage and power outages. Hopefully we have dodged a bullet, one of many for this winter. Good luck to everyone.

Had lots of black ice on the roads this morning on my way in to work-my usual 8 minute drive was more like 20. Got a very quick eye opener when I encountered an SUV upside in the field within sight of my house....had several more slid off into ditches and many more tracks where people had got into the ditch but managed to get back on the road-probably had more traction in the ditch!!!
Had several roads closed down in the area...I-65 northbound was shut down for several hours because of several wrecks.

While I was at the Boat Sport and Travel Show on Sunday, my wife was out with my daughter, and hit some slush in an intersection which resulted in the car ending up on the median/island. A couple good Samaritans stopped and dug out the car for her. No sooner than it happened, WTHR (NBC Channel 13) was driving by, stopped, and starting filming. She told them she didn't want to be on TV, so they didn't film her face...but my car is now a famous TC car. It's a grey Taurus - I see replicas of it EVERYWHERE!!! Everyone was OK, but she said the car had a "wobble" on the way home. It must've been snow in the wheels - after sitting in the garage overnight, it was fine Monday AM. I asked my daughter if she yelled, "Turn into the spin Barbie!" (Toy Story 2 reference). She looked at me like I was crazy, but she's 12. She always looks at me like I'm crazy. After I got off the phone with my wife, my son was playing on ATVs. He got on one and went, "wahhh, wahhhh, wahhh, errrr, bam! I crashed like Mommy". I'm soooo glad he said it and not me! I don't know where he gets these things

We got 8-10" here in Ramsey, about 30 miles WNW of Louisville. I had an interesting moment or two on my way home from work Wednesday afternoon. The snow started falling in huge wet flakes after the daylong rain, starting shortly after I left work. The roads were ok to sloppy through most of the trip, until I got to New Salisbury, which is about six miles from Ramsey. The traffic was crawling along at 30 MPH, and I decided that I could probably make better time on a side road that runs all the way to where I live. I got on this road, and about three curves in there is a slight valley. As I was descending the relatively mild slope my rear end suddenly slewed around to my left. I corrected with right steer, but the car continued sliding down the grade, at one point I was 90 degrees to the road. I remember thinking "This just ain't gonna end well..." The car finally began to slow down, but was still sliding slowly toward the edge of the road. My front tires ended up off the pavement, momentarily stuck in the snow, but I was able to regain the pavement. As I was getting the car facing the correct direction I noticed a car that had stopped on the top of the other side of the slope, apparently waiting to see if I would get clear. As I passed them I rolled my window down and told the young lady driving to "Mind, it's a bit slick that way". Her smile helped calm my still racing pulse enough to continue the trip.
