Agreed. I hate it. Lived for 35 yrs. on Eastern Standard Time. Used to be we were only off with NW IN. 6mos. out of a yr., now it's yr. round. They've already proven that DST doesn't do what they proclaimed it did. Why not just go forward 30 minutes, then LEAVE it there yr. round? I don't care what anyone says about business, New York and L.A. are ALWAYS 3 hrs. off. As for golf in the summertime, if yer still out there at 10-10:30 pm, playing cow-pasture-pool, ya seriously need to find another hobby......just sayin'.... maddog

I don't care for this time-change either. "Spring Ahead" or "Fall Back" seems stupid. I also don't like Eastern Time, as I much prefer Central time much better, as a lot of my favorite TV shows come on at 9:00 pm Eastern Time, instead of 8:00 pm Central Time. I normally go to bed at 9:00 pm & wake-up at 4:00 am. Also I have two watches: one set for EST and the other for EDT. I just switch watches so I don't have to mess around with changing the hour on just one watch.

Try this run on sentenence for size. I came from Eastern, now live in Central, but still work and live on Eastern, yet my wife lives on Central, and my kids school is on Central, then depending on grade, some switch to Eastern and some Central. Then there is this, we live 3 miles from the county line so our cell phones bounce towers and change times regularly. Oh yeah, then there is the daylight time switch. Uggghhh!!!!

Despite the fact that I admire most of his ideas, Benjamin Franklin got the whole DST concept all wrong. It was a stupid idea in his time(never was accepted then), and makes no sense now. If I get up an hour early I'm using energy to see, so it saves nothing. Just think, he came up with the idea in a misguided effort to prevent the citizens of Boston from burning candles too early. What were they doing for light before the sun came up...?

You should live in Pike county. Where I live I can see an hours difference in time. Just across a field is gibson county which is an hour behind me. I hate not being on the same time as everybody else

I hate not being on the same time as everybody else I've got that beat. I used to live on the Harrison Co. side of Milltown, which straddles the county line. Before McDaniels had us all switch to DST the Crawford side observed "fast time/slow time", meaning that for six months per year both sides were on the same time. Stupid, but it came in handy sometimes, like when you ran out of beer at closing time in Harrison you would still have an hour to go to the other side to get more.

Areas near Louisville and I believe Chicago have always observed DST.

I am 1/2 way Louisville and Cincinnati we never had to move clocks but TV changed all banks and most worked in or near cinn or Louis so we did just to keep up with every thing so the actual change was no big deal

Would there ever be enough revolt to end DST across the nation? We are a 24 hour a day world and there are endless studies and reports about how much money is lost every year changing clocks.
Is it possible or has common sense completely left the planet?
