Guess I still owe a story. I'd watched this bird for a couple weeks, most of the time with 6 hens. Put him to bed Friday and setup close to where they left the field that morning. In no time 4 of the hens had come out around us and spread out across the field. He got quite once he hit the ground and took his time coming out. He finally came into the field about 730 out of range to our right. At this point we still had 1 live hen left of our decoys and thought for sure he'd come right in but he wanted no part of our decoys. He turned away from us and worked out into the field feeding by himself. Over the next 2hrs another hen came out past him and took him out into the field about 250yds from us. For whatever reason, that hen decided she wanted to join us and covered that distance in about 5 min and started feeding around our blind. He followed but still wanted nothing to do with us. He moved down the field to stay in line with her but wouldn't come closer to the woods. Finally I guess he had enough of his hen leaving and came straight to us as you see in the video. Would have liked to have got more close footage but after that long wait I didn't want to risk him not giving another chance and let her take the first good shot she had. Couldn't be more proud of that girl.

It is a really special moment for you both.
I switch from my big tom decoy to a jake (Funky Chicken); he's more like I am ...no one is afraid of him.
