When they start putting roll bars on them them maybe I might be interested. I realize you southern Indiana folks follow this sport more then us Yankees.

Im a younger guy and guess I just don't know the history of it or how it is so much bigger than the rest of the derby's they run. Or why 170,000 people will pay so much to watch 2 minutes of about 18-20 horses run ONE lap around a track. When it was over I was waiting for the next group of horses to roll up and see the next race. Guess I was wrong. I just think its odd to only have ONE race be ONE lap and be done. But like I said, I don't follow it or know the history of it. I'll stick to watching the races featuring 850-900 horses! (That was a NASCAR reference) lol

But treat yourself to a great race. Go to a local sprint car track.

I have a buddy that used to race the winged sprint cars! Really fun time watching them and got some hands on work in the pits.

I was probably mowing my grass while the Derby ran, and I grew up in Louisville. Never cared for horse racing, or horses for that matter.
