But only 2 will point, flush and retrieve birds! Welcome to the Duke and Pepper show! As most of you know, I had the unfortunate set of circumstances about a month ago of losing my English Pointer, Rock. Through a lot of soul searching, conversations with whitetail1 and others, and searching for a new Elhew English Pointer I realized that now is not the time to be concerned with a specific breed. Most of all, I love guiding hunts. So in the midst of all this, I got a call from my Uncle. He has raised German Wirehaired Pointers for 40+ years. That is where my male, Duke came from. And he offered a gift I could not refuse, one of his 3 year old females, Pepper. On the Dam side, Pepper comes from the same line as Duke which I love. Strong on Dual Champion and Master Hunter Cadenberg Victor and Wingmaster Magnum! So Pepper is now teamed up with Duke and especially of note, she is a retrieving fool! But best of all, she is an absolute sweetheart in nature which is so important to me because this is not found in all GWP's. So, ugly as we all might be, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! And one more shot of a happy, tail waggin' Pepper during some fetch and retrieve fun!

You guys have the same looking mustache......they say dogs and their owners sometimes look alike and this is proof of that theory.

Congrats on the new dog. It is nice to have good family. The loss of a pet brings tremendous heattbreak,we will never forget them and the new one will never replace them but we can make NEW good memories with the new one that can help lessen the pain. Good luck with the new dog and happy hunting.

COTTON: I know I don't need to say this but a soft hand with that female and a lot of praise will go a long ways. Congrats,I knew you would jump back on the saddle.

COTTON: I know I don't need to say this but a soft hand with that female and a lot of praise will go a long ways. Congrats,I knew you would jump back on the saddle. Point well taken! Up til now all of the pointers I've owned have been males. I've worked and hunted over many females through the years. But, it's a different story when it comes to owning, devoting time and training one. I'm already seeing that she takes minimal verbal correction...she corrects...looks at me... tail stops wagging. And then I tell her to "come" then "whoa" her. And the second the ear rubbing and "good girl" starts, so does the lovin' and tail waggin'!
