i had a four year permit and wanted to go to lifetime. Done all I was to do and after about a two month wait and checking the status on line ,I see where it has been rejected. My question is there a difference in being rejected compared to it saying denied?. I cant figure out what happened especially since i had a four year .

Not sure if it is still the case but when I first went to get my lifetime permit they told me I was not allowed as I had to be within 180 days of my 4 year permit expiration date. So at 179 days left on my 4 yr I applied for the lifetime. Might this be the case deerdude?

I got a 4 year permit, because this is a lifetime for me. :-) Also, figure 4 more years of this and we won't need a permit to join the militia.

I know a guy that got the 4-year, then they released the lifetime so he decided to get it while he still could, went down, submitted everything again as a renewal, they took his money and all. He got a letter(may have been a call) about 6 weeks later saying his renewal had been rejected because he wasn't in his renewal period yet. Lost half of the money too...boy, he was ticked.

I was the first person in my county to apply for a lifetime handgun license (Saturday, July 1, 2006). My 4-year license was set to expire two weeks after I applied for the lifetime, so I was good to go as far as being within the 180-day period. What's funny is that my county's Sheriff's Department had no idea that the lifetime permit had been created, and had to call the State Police to get info and get the application faxed to them so I could fill it out. LOL!
