Indiana currently does sell Ohio River commercial fishing licenses contrary to the initial comment. It is lawful for a person to use sport fishing methods, i.e. fishing poles, in the Ohio River with a Kentucky Non Resident Commercial Fishing License. In other words an Ohio River Commercial Fishing License also serves as a sport fishing license. However, it is unlawful to sell any fish caught with sport fishing devices. The only fish that can be sold commercially are those fish harvested with designated commercial fishing gear. Therefore, it would be unlawful for a person with any type of commercial fishing license, bait dealer’s License or Sport Fishing License to harvest skipjacks with the use of fishing poles below Markland Dam and then sell those skipjack as bait.
