I think I figured out why that bird is still gobbling...they are still breeding.
Was down at the farm today doing some work and nearly ran over a nest full of eggs. The hen held tight till I was nearly on top of her before taking off...scared the it out of me.
There was a Tom strutting with some hens in a newly planted bean field....

Wouldn't surprise me one bit, the wife and I were out scouting for deer Saturday . Too our surprise 3 toms in full strut around 2 hens then a couple miles away a lone tom full strut as well and gobbling his head off.

Something was definitely off this year. They shut off third day of season and didn't gobble the rest of the year. One or two in the tree and that's it. Makes sense to me.
