So with he upcoming weekend, which I am definitely excited about. What fish are biting right now and on what? I haven't be able to throw a pole in the water but maybe 1/2 dozen times total this year. So I don't even know what the fish are hitting on and the like. Anyone have any updates that has worked for them? Thanks and god bless.
Remember to be safe this weekend.

Plus one on the Laporte County mosquitoes being bad, as far as the fish are concerned everything is spawned and we are now in that dog days of summer time. Early morning and late evening (if you can stand the bugs) for pan fish.and of course night time catfish/bullhead fishing.

This was the first year in probably the last 15 that Danf and I have not been able to do a float trip the last weekend of June-which for the last 5 years has also been the weekend that he's brought the grankids from NH to stay here for a month (spoil 'em rotten and send 'em back!). For those of you on FB my profile pic has four generations in the boat to fishing last year....this year the Tippecanoe was at flood stage just about the whole weekend

OK kind of went the wrong way, but oh well. I definitely hear you when you say the bugs are bad, definitely going to throw on some bug dope along with a lot of moth balls on the ground, I found that keeps the mosquitos at bay, however have to throw them down a couple of days in advance.
As for what I would like to catch, well we have our own lake and there are bass and pan fish in it, however would really like to get some bass. Like I said above haven't been able to go fishing that much this year. Thanks a lot and god bless.

Yeah sorry for kind of hijacking your thread to vent Hopefully sometime in the next couple of weeks I'll be able to get my Dad and grankids out on the Tippecanoe for a day of fishing. We usually just bottom and float fish for cats or whatever else will take worms, shrimp or crawdads.

Never had a day where I couldn't take the daughter out with a bobber and meal worms or night crawler on the end and caught something if you are looking to bass fish with artificals eight inch black worm on a Carolina rig can't be beat in most waters or chartrues and white Spinner bait with bass fishing it usually boils down to tossing a flashy lure in front of the fish sometimes you have to Throw the whole tackle box before you get it figured out

Skeeters are the worst I've seen in a LONG time. I pulled into a clients place 2 days ago and there were about 300 beating on the truck windows saying WE WANT IN!!! As for fish, I don't fish much public water any more. I had two people over here today and one guy caught 3 Largemouth bass on 5 casts that totaled 13.5 pounds, the other guy caught a couple of 1.5# Smallies and maybe 30 to 40 Yellow Perch that were between 1/2 and 1 pound.

When I used to fish ponds for bass I loved using a weightless pre rigged worm. I used to buy red plough jocky but I have not looked for them in a coons age. There were similar to a touchdown, but different.
I could catch every bass out of a pond with that just slow retrieval to keep above the weeds. Add a swivel would be inly improvement I would add.
