Don't let anybody tell you there is no Lyme in Indiana - my best bud just got his positive result yesterday. Lives in Clay County (Brazil). He had to finally demand the blood work etc. - the doctor did not want to believe it.
So, they started heavy doses of doxycycline, and he sees an infectious disease specialist in a few days.
Not the first time I have heard that doctors tend to blow it off...
He had great fatigue, joint pain, odd headaches, a low-grade fever that would pop up and go away suddenly, and night sweats.

Yes sir..my oldest daughter had it. She showed me her "rash" and I told here she needed to go to her doctor right away. She didn't do it and paid dearly later. She ended up in the hospital where they administered anti-biotic intro venous. She had a rough go of it.. Maybe next time she will listen to good old dad?

Co-worker got it while working near Chambersburg about 15 years ago. Rash popped up and doc gave him an antibiotic. Whatever antibiotic it was caused him to be really sensitive to sunlight on exposed skin.

Whatever antibiotic it was caused him to be really sensitive to sunlight on exposed skin. I know eight people (two down here) that had contracted Lymes. One died from complications from it several years ago, in Indiana. That antibiotic your friend was taking sounds like it was Cipro.
This is mainly the reason I don't work in my woods after the month of March through December. I see a few ticks during our late Summer Squirrel Season, but not near as many as in May-July. Have bagged several Deer that had a few ticks on them during rifle season down here.

As I have been taught here, an ounce of prevention..... Permethrin Not suggesting it is an end all, solve all, but I won't go into the woods without it during tick season
