www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNoFbwxbDfsFor anybody out there that's had a lifelong dream of doing an Iron Butt ride (formerly known as an LDR - long distance ride), come on and join us. My buddy has wanted to do this for years so we plan on knocking this off his bucket list on Saturday, July 25th. We'll be doing a SaddleSore 1000. That's 1052 miles in ~22 hours. We need to do a minumum of 1000 miles in less than 24 hours: www.ironbutt.com/ridecerts/getdocument.cfm?DocID=1He'll be on his Harley. I'll be on my Beemer. From Johnny Cash to Johnny Morris! At roughly the halfway point we will stop at the new Bass Pro Shop Pyramid and do a quick tour and some lunch. If you've thought about this but weren't sure of the documenting process, don't worry! I'm already certified and will walk ya through the process. If you don't currently have a bike and do have an mc endorsement, Go rent a bike! It's kinda fun to see the reaction when you bring the bike back and it has over 1000 miles added in a few days! We will leave Indy around 2 am and be back to Indy around midnight! And NO. Contrary to what some say you do NOT need a dual sport with a 5+ gallon monster tank that'll go 300+ miles. That ain't how ya do it! We stop roughly every 120 miles! So if you have a hankerin' for a ride like this...COME JOIN US! Or even if you've thought about just taking a trip in your other than 2 wheel vehicle to check out the new Bass Pro, come down and plan to meet us there! Send me a PM if you're interested and we'll go from there!

I would start training today by sleeping everyday for about 15 hours because you will be sleeping for a few days after the ride is over. Remember were not as young as we think we are.... OH AND BY THE WAY......... good luck.

Nice scooter! I am a Beemer guy myself -I am without at the moment, but have my eye out. Retirement is on the horizon... I was at the Pyramid recently, the granddaughter is in Memphis - you are in for a treat! Do the elevator to the top for sure.
Ride safe

What an awesome ride and a very cool destination. I haven't detailed the mileage and hours yet but the bike odometer showed 1092.8 miles in a little over 20 hours. That included a few hours at the Bass Pro Pyramid and some late chow north ov Louisville. 3 AM comes early: Dr. Ted cruisin' through Missouri: A whole lotta HOT sun shinin' down on the Pyramid. 98 in Memphis which felt more like 120! One of the many cool views from "Johnny's Penthouse!" overlooking the MIssissippi! And the food was awesome! We chowed down on some BBQ Pork flatbread and the Memphis Duck Wings! Dipped in their apricot BBQ sauce!!! Some things in life are to die for...the Memphis Duck Wings...these babies are to LIVE for...I'll go back just for the experience to sit in the bar for a few hours and chow on those while taking in the view!!!
