Yes, Kentucky re-stocking Elk has been very successful. They were introduced to areas/Counties that have very low Deer populations, in Eastern Kentucky. Only problem is getting drawn for an Elk Tag.

Elk were stocked in the Smoky Mtn's a few years ago. A bull and three cows are being seen in our county recently. Pretty cool. Our county is 3 counties away from Cherokee so they have traveled a bit.

A lot of other states are starting to reintroduce Elk also. Missouri, and Virginia have reintroduced Elk in recent years. I think West Virginia is also planning on reintroducing Elk soon.
