You know what a nervous wreck I would be if I accidentally shot multiple turkeys with one shot? I'd be calling someone. Help me!

Where I hunt in Nebraska almost every turkey you call to in the woods comes in on a cattle trail. One morning 14 gobblers and jakes walked single file right up to us. Multiple birds could have been killed with one shot, so not a shot was fired.

I know the ethical answer. I'm wondering though, what are the legal requirements of this situation, in a state that allows only one bird?

It puts the hunter in a tough spot, though a guy can prevent himself from getting into it in the first place by not shooting at grouped birds.
If you take the turkeys home, you are over the bag limit. If you leave the "extra" birds in the field, that's wanton waste. No-win situation.

A no-win situation for a game violation that is 100% preventable. Just as it should be.

If that situation was in Indiana, just make sure you have 3 guys with you that all have the proper licenses and fire simultaneously and you are good to go!
